What to do this weekend

What to do this weekend

Eat the internet-famous date “Snickers” bark. We’ve been making this simple recipe a lot in our kitchens lately, so we thought we’d pass it on. It’s incredibly simple, using just a few ingredients, and provides a highly satisfying chocolate bar alternative with delicious dates.

Read Chasing Shadows by Ronald J. Deibert. Billed as “like a John Le Carré novel updated for the digital age,” this non-fiction book by a renowned Canadian privacy researcher tells the story of activists shedding light on nefarious uses of surveillance tech.

Watch Mickey 17, now in theatres. The first film from South Korean master Bong Joon-Ho since his 2020 Oscar win for Parasite is a high-concept sci-fi comedy. Robert Pattinson stars as a low-level space worker who is repeatedly killed on the job and revived through cloning.

Listen to Mayhem by Lady Gaga. One of the great pop stars of the 21st century is back with a return-to-form album filled with all the theatrics that first made her huge. It’s good enough that you’ll forget about the Joker movie she was in that no one liked.—QH
