What to do this weekend

What to do this weekend

Eat a sopping wet French dip. Apparently, French dips are popping off in NYC right now. Of course, in that overpriced city, a roast beef sando and broth dip might run you US$40. We’re more interested in a recipe to make a cheaper, homemade-in-Canada version.

Read The Uncertainty Advantage by Scott Stirrett. Canadian author Scott Stirrett’s new book is a practical guide for young professionals navigating their careers during tumultuous times (i.e. now). It’s even gotten the seal of approval from Eric Ries and Michele Romanow.

Watch The Thursday Murder Club, now on Netflix.  Finally, a movie you and your parents can agree on. This adaptation of the wildly successful book about sleuthing senior citizens boasts big names (Helen Mirren! Pierce Brosnan!) and a delightfully droll British sensibility.

Listen to Essex Honey by Blood Orange. Musical multi-hyphenate Dev Hynes is back with his first full-length studio album in seven years under the Blood Orange moniker. From blissful tone poems to soaring alt-pop ballads, every track possesses great beauty.—QH
