What to do this weekend

Oct 26, 2024

What to do this weekend

Eat a brussels sprouts concoction. Brussels sprouts are in season right now and, despite any childhood associations you might have, are very tasty. Take a dive into these leafy green buds with a guide on the best ways to prepare them: roasted, stir-fried, steamed, and grilled.

Read Atlas of Finance. This new book — the joint effort of a finance professor, a graphic artist, and a cartographer — seeks to illuminate the confusing world of global finance and money moves across dozens of stylish and comprehensible maps and graphics.

Watch Don’t Move on Netflix. As it is the Halloweekend after all, settle in on the couch for a spine-tingler. Co-produced by horror master Sam Raimi, this new Netflix thriller sees a woman trying to escape from a killer as her body slowly shuts down due to a paralytic drug.

Listen to Money Matters from The Peak. If you haven’t yet heard our new pod where Peak Money’s Meera Raman takes on burning personal finance questions, it’s time. The first two eps concern staying home to save money and the data perils of personal finance apps.—QH

“Quickly became the only newsletter I open every morning. I like that I know what’s going on, but don’t feel shitty after I finish reading.” -Amy, reader since 2022
