Ticket insurance can be a lifesaver, but refunds aren’t guaranteed. You conquered the battle of nabbing concert tickets and now you're staring at that insurance offer. Ticketmaster’s insurance partner charges about 10% of your ticket price — so if you’ve splurged on a pricey ticket, that cost can add up. At first, the idea of coverage up to $1,000 seems like a smart move, especially since it covers a wide variety of things like serious injuries or job loss. But when you dig a little deeper, you’ll find that the coverage has narrow limitations — for example, that serious injury has to happen within 48 hours of the concert, and you’ll need a doctor’s note. For job-loss claims, you need to have been with your employer for at least three years. If you’ve splurged on your ticket and want the peace of mind, the insurance might be worth it despite the limitations. But if your ticket was on the cheaper side, you might want to skip the extra cost.
